# Instagram

> Understand Instagram connection modes and integration data.

YoLead supports direct Instagram Login as well as existing connections through Facebook Login. Both use the same public channel type, `instagram`; integrations do not need a separate channel enum for direct connections. Connect or reauthorize accounts through the YoLead UI.

Both connection modes use the existing ticket, message, and attachment contracts. Supported referrals can supply acquisition metadata in `ticket.attribution`. See [Ticket attribution](https://docs.yo-lead.com/concepts/ticket-attribution.md) for supported keys and capture rules.

Disconnecting a channel preserves messages already stored in YoLead. Reading stored history remains subject to company access and plan restrictions. Sending and provider-backed operations require a usable connection and the permissions granted by Meta.
